Grab your favorite glass of wine, and get ready to laugh, cry and relate in ways that only a woman can, through the life of actress Gabrielle Union.

Author: Gabrielle Union

This book was like sitting down with your girlfriends, sipping on glasses of wine, or my favorite Jack and Coke, and having an open and honest conversation about life.
As a woman, reading Gabrielle Unions story helped me grasp how much we all have in common as women. She talks about her childhood, growing up in both California and Nebraska, and the balance of becoming a woman through her school experiences.
She gets right into her sexual encounters, the time she was raped, which would forever change her life and her current fight in sexual assault advocacy, politics and growing up in the movie industry. She does it all with integrity and lots of humor.
As a woman of color her experiences in dealing with racism, color-ism and being stereotyped, made me feel like i've known her all my life. Like she's just one of my girlfriends speaking freely and openly.

As far as readability, its written in a series of short stories or essays, so it's easy and enjoyable to read. Its raw, cuss words throughout and honest commentary that takes you on a roller coaster of moments and feeling.
